| This is a miniature painting on ivory of Vermeer's The Love Letter. The frame measures 7 3/4" x 7", while the actual ivory painting measures approximately 5" x 4". The technically accurate rendition of the Vermeer masterpiece has been faithful to the original composition, with a more restrained palate. Acquired from a fine Mid-Western estate, this artwork, likely of European manufacture, dates from c. 1910 and is in excellent condition. In the lower, left corner is a monogram "MO". | ||||||
