| Measuring 3 1/4" x 2 1/8" by 1 1/4" high, this Pratt transfer box is much rarer than is "round" relatives. When F. R. Pratt began manufacturing color transfer wares, little did he imagine what a vast market would open up for his colorful pottery. Manufactures of pomades, bear grease, potted shrimp and fish paste were eager to package their goods in these functional, colorful boxes. The subject of the picture is "The donkey's foal". Great Britain, c. 1850, in excellent condition with normal crazing, and a tiny chip on the underside of the lid. | ||||||||
