ABOUT US
My husband Stephen and I bought our first nine artifacts
several decades ago. We soon fell in love with antiquity - its arts,
its cultures, its stories. We became avid collectors, learning all
we could about the "lives" of our pieces. We spend a great part
of the year visiting archaeological sites all over the world and
exploring collections in great city and small village museums.
In 2001 we decided that we wanted to share our
wonderful acquisitions with others and opened our first gallery in Boca Raton, Florida. Clifton McCracken soon joined our staff as Associate Director bringing an extensive knowledge of Curatorship and a specialization in European arts. Today our galleries in Milford, New Hampshire and
Boca Raton hold over 500 authentic artifacts, reflecting the civilizations
of the ancient world. Each tells a story and each has been lovingly
chosen to reflect the best work of its kind.
Our inventory photos are just a sampling of our
pieces. If you have an interest in a particular period or a particular
culture, please let us know, and we will supply additional photos
or search out an item that will suit your particular needs. We know
that you will be happy with our price structure as well, and we
are sure we can offer you artifacts in any price range you desire.
We maintain an extensive library and will be glad to research the
history of your purchase.
In addition, if you are interested in creating a "collection" of
specific pieces for yourself or to donate to an organization, we
can develop one for you. For example, we have assembled a grouping
of antiquities containing ancient writing for the library of The
American Jewish Committee in Manhattan and a "learning collection"
comprising typical artifacts for each of the biblical eras for Congregation
B'nai Israel in Boca Raton.
We are well aware of the questions of cultural patrimony
and we can provide assurance that all of our pieces were acquired
from sources that follow the legal guidelines set forth for antiquities.
You can therefore proudly display artifacts purchased through our
gallery.
We are looking forward to meeting many new clients and friends
through our ancient art gallery, and we know you will be most pleased with the
resources and services of Griffin Gallery Ancient Art.
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Judith Beiner
