Very large Han dynasty Cold Painted Pottery Cocoon Jar, China (206 BCE - 220 CE) Full ovid body raised on a ridged spreading pedestal foot. Deeply incised bands with geometric patterns and pigments of red, green, cream and brown. Short neck encircled by string bands before flaring toward everted rim. Intact with wonderful earthen encrustation. 17" high x 18" long x 13" wide. In excellent condition.
Large Babylonian / Persian Incantation Bowl written in Mandaic script, circa 6th - 8th Century CE. Found in The Holy Land. FULLY TRANSLATED, this bowl asks for health and welfare of dwelling of Nihye, son of Niway and Mihroy daughter of Maskoy. Intact with earthen encrustation due to age. Entirely legible script pigment, and in excellent condition. 11" diameter.
