This is a superb table lamp in the style of a classic Architectural Column. Apparently this was once a French Oil Lamp from the early to mid 1800's, that was converted into an electrified table lamp in the 1900's.
The top of the lamp bears the following French inscription:

Exquisite! Nothing more suitably describes this pair of French Louis XV styled gilt bronze three-light wall sconces. Look at the photos, to see the artistry behind these superbly cast and hand-chased fixtures from the turn of the century. I'm not sure of the country of origin, but they are stamped on the back H & Company. They came from a New York estate in the late 1980’s and were rewired about 10 years ago and the candles were replaced with real Bees Wax sleeves. This gorgeous lighting ...click for details
