This is a large 14 1/2" diameter wood Cheese Mold of a French Rooster. It's nicely hand carved image of a man
riding a Rooster has a Folk Art feel. The ornate carving has a great amount of detail, even though it is a shallow carving. The purpose of the shallow carving is so that the cheese will harden evenly in the press, and allow separation without damage to the block of cheese. The back has two heavy support boards that are joined into the mold itself with wood peg construction. These boards are used to hold the metal dowels or handles, which are used for leverage to separate the mold from the block of cheese. This marvelous piece would be perfect on a shelf or cupboard in a Country French Kitchen. This is a most for Collectors of Kitchenailia or vintage Culinary items. SIZE 14.5"Dia x 4" Deep Thank you for shopping with Griffin Trading at GriffinTrading.com |
