This is an exceptional painting of a wooded scene depicting a tree with its roots exposed and clinging on to a rocky outcrop. The colors are deep and rich adding to the drama of the image. The painting is unsigned and the age is unknown. The reverse has the following written in pencil. "Ex Call Enrico Cardone Rome"
The painting was done on board and is in very good condition. The board itself has a repair on back and a couple of very minor cracks where the painting was stapled into the frame. These are ever so faint and do not detract from the painting. The antique silver leaf frame is newer. SITE: 11.75" x 9.25" FRAME: 17.75" x 14.25" |
