Probably part of a ceremonial vessel, this silver or silver clad bronze piece has subtle hints of red and green from the cuprite and malachite that remain on the surface. Featuring a cloud form decoration, it comes from China and dates to around the 4th or 5th century B.C. The custom gold fitting, in 18k, imitates this cloud form with a later variation. Gold work is by Blue Heron Jewelers. approximately 6.2 cm. in length, 1.5 cm wide. All antique, ancient, or archaic metallic elements have been authenticated, conserved, and protected so that they may be worn without fear of causing harm.
