This is a vintage whiskey bottle which has been overlaid with sterling silver designs. The piece has been stamped sterling on the bottom and features two large shou symbols in the middle surrounded by bats, clouds and other auspicious symbols. The bottle is made of dark brown/amber glass and has “Ainsley’s” imprinted on it. The top spout is removable and has a new cork in the bottom. Description: This is a very unusual antique Tibetan Chuba made from Chinese tribute cloth. The tribute cloth was often bestowed to temples or monasteries for special consideration such as allegiances. The cloth would have been made in China during the late Qing Dynasty and sent to the temple or monastery uncut. From there it would often be made into a priest’s robe.
