This is a Victorian tortoise shell hair comb, circa 1880-1890. The comb is mounted with three tortoise shell beads and two carved designs. There are two chips to the sides of the comb (see photos).
The Victorian era came around the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901) regarding England and the height of its industrial revolution. This era lead to many different advances in cloth manufacturing changing how women dressed and accessorized. Dimensions: 6 1/2" height Please note that we do not ship tortoise outside of the US! |
