Description: This is an antique bronze bracelet from either the Lobi or Dyan cultures of the Western Africa. The piece is from the former French colony of Upper Volta (present day Burkina Faso). The bracelet has three bells on it with incised geometric designs. The bells would have been used to summon protective ancestral spirits to watch over the wearer. The piece dates to the late 19th, early 20th century. The bracelet is in good condition and would make an excellent addition to anyone’s collection.
