This is an antique Japanese boxwood netsuke made in the form of Fukurokuju, one of the Seven Lucky Gods in Japanese mythology. Fukurokuju is associated with wisdom and longevity. The netsuke has been carved with fine detail as noted in the photographs. The piece in great condition with only some minor wear from use. The netsuke dates to the Meiji period during the 19th century. This would make an excellent addition to anyone’s collection.
