Antique Japanese Stained Ivory Netsuke of a Shinigami
This is an antique Japanese ivory netsuke in the form of a shinigami, the Japanese form of personified death. The figure is standing next to skull. The entire piece has been covered in a stain giving it a rich brown color. The netsuke has been signed on the bottom and says either “Ansen” or “Yasusen”. The piece dates to the Meiji period during the 19th century. The netsuke is in excellent condition and would make a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection

Dimensions:1.5” x 1” x .5”
