This early 19th century Bizen sculpture is of a dog sitting on a patch of grass. The slow firing in the kiln has produced a rich, reddish brown color with ash creating splashes of a green glaze to the top of the head and parts of the body. It is in very good condition except for a hairline crack on the right paw.
