A pair of beautifully executed still lifes in the Flemish style by Oskar Robert Dogarth (Austrian, 1898-1961). Oil on board, each work measures 9 1/2" x 12" (sight) and is in fine, original condition including frame.
Dogarth, a contemporary of Austrian still life artist Franz Xavier Pieler, was noted for his lush, finely detailed still lifes of flowers. We are also offering a larger work by the same artist, who also painted under the alias "Deffner."

A beautifully executed still life in the manner of the Flemish old masters, by Austrian artist Oskar Robert Dogarth(1890-1961)aka L. Deffner. Oil on board, painting measures 18" x 22" and is in fine original condition in its original frame. Signed lower right and with engraved plaque on frame.
Like his contemporary Austrian artist, Franz Pieler, Dogarth is noted for his lush, finely detailed still lifes. We are also offering two smaller still lifes by the same artist.

A very fine oil on canvas after a famous work by the French painter Jean Baptiste Greuze (1725-1805). Probably French, the painting is unsigned and dates to the late 18th or early 19th century. Titled The Paralytic, the original Greuze painting is in the Hermitage. The painting was restored as follows: a polyester film was added to reinforce the back leaving the original canvas visible.
