A Very Fine Gold Maki-e Wood Black Lacquer Tray:
Japan, late Meiji Period, early 20th Century, with presentation box
It is a very fine rectangular form tray gold lacquer painted with 3 fan shape paintings
and 2 cloud shapepaintings with floral sprays and birds flying over sea waves on the black lacquered tray in gold and other lacquer colors. It’s in excellent condition but a tiny gold lacquer off on the top edage.
It measures 19” x 13” x 2.25” (48.2cm x 33cm x 5.7cm)
