This is a beautiful celadon bonsai tray produced in Hirado ( located in Nagasaki prefecture in Kyushu region ) in the late Edo era. It is called "Hirado-yaki" which was first produced in the early 17th C. in the region. In good condition without any chip or crack. This is a Kyo-Karatsu katakuchi chawan. Kyo-Karatsu chawan is a Karatsu style chawan which was produced in Kyoto. It has nice hand drawn patterns in both sides. In excellent condition with a wooden box. Late Edo (ca. mid 19th C.) Diameter 13cm 5.1" Height 7cm 2.8"
