Exquisite 3 bell and butterfly Swiss Sainte-Croix music box. Circa 1880. The outside of the box was refinished around 1970 and music box has been recently cleaned. Plays well. Eight tunes. One flower head missing on center bell. Approx. 16.5"L, 10"W, and 9"H. This wonderful table model music box was made by the Swiss company, Paillard, in 1879. It is made of European hardwood, and laminated with inlaid linear designs, and an elaborately inlaid lid of a music and floral theme. It has brass handles on the box, and original wood casters on the table. The table has a storage drawer for 5 of the 6 cylinders.
