A lovely late 19th C Japanese Kakiemon bijin holding two opened fans and a flower on her head. Her finely detailed kimono is skillfully rendered with colored enamels which includes aubergine. This already difficult-to-find collectible Kakiemon figure is an even rarer find because the flower can also serve as a candle holder. The back of the green fan is missing a corner (which is not immediately noticeable) and a few small flecks off the black enamel. Otherwise in very good condition. Exqui ...click for details

This stunning sesame-seed yellow tokoname vase is a unique creation, and frankly the only one of its kind I've found on the market. The motif encompasses 2 writhing dragons emerging in and out from the misty clouds, until they emerge to embrace the vase, forming the exquisite handles. Each dragon is meticulously hand-sculpted in exacting detail. Varying bands of impressed designs are found within the inner lip, as well as around the mouth rim, shoulder, stem, and foot rim, for a total of ...click for details

Offered is a nice sky blue jun bowl of the Yuan dynasty and of the period. This is an excellent study piece as it allows you to observe the compact paste in the chipped area of the foot, as well as glaze movement. This Jun bowl is offered as is, and has uneven pooling of the glaze, a large chip at the foot, a body crack but doesn't go through, some glaze chips from the base when the bowl was removed from the kiln and a very tiny chip on the rim. Size is 18.4 cm diameter x 7.62 cm high (7. ...click for details

A beautifully gold accented imari small dish from old Japan, detailed and profusely decorated with tendrils and flora with a well painted mythical Kylin; the contrast is simply stunning and well defined, condition is excellent and the enamels well preserved, minor glaze imperfection on the backside, but hardly worth mentioning save for accuracy sake, we date this beauty to the Meiji period pre-1900. Measurements: 10.16 cm diameter (4 inches)
