“The Vamp Suite” by Erte consists of 6 limited edition lithographs on paper. Numbered 7/300, each of the 6 prints are signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. Each piece is beautifully framed with a thick custom matt that was wrapped in a rich dark golden brown silk/satin material, reminiscent of expensive clothing of the period. This painting is my personal favorite. This is the famous Liu Bei (161 – 223 AD), Chinese style name Xuándé, who was a powerful warlord and the founding emperor of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms era of China. This scroll is one of the most beautifully rendered silk master pieces that I have ever encountered, rich in the detailing as even the dragons are done with great clarity of detail about the hem of his garment.
