From Northern Laos, this hand woven Yao wedding apron is decorated with French coins. It was made by a native Yao woman during the French occupation of Laos. Purchased in 1950 by Shirley A. Arnold, wife of Daniel C. Arnold (Chief of Station for CIA), Mrs.Arnold had the wedding apron framed by the same framers used by The White House, Washington, DC.
