Remember that TROCADERO's automation has eliminated the need for compression altogether and for making smaller versions of your pictures - you upload one picture and TROCADERO makes the "thumbnails" automatically. You do not need to download a new application if you are happy with one not mentioned here

Microsoft Explorer Versions From Microsoft's Explorer download site you can review all the versions of their browser for compatibility with your system and your needs before downloading. Conditions and prices may vary from time to time but Microsoft generally offers their browsers for free. I am not familiar with the level of support one gets with a free download. You need at least the 4.0 version to use TROCADERO's interactive maintenance features. Explorer was, if not still, the leader in supported HTML code. This just means that you may be able to view page design that would not be evident on other browsers.

Adobe Products Adobe's website offers product information on PhotoShop and PhotoDeluxe. Most of you will, if not already, have PhotoDeluxe bundled with your imaging equipment. If you don't have it you can purchase it off Adobe's site or download their premium PhotoShop or their intermediary "Business Edition". Versions of PhotoDeluxe didn't seem to be availabe for online download last time I checked.

Paint Shop Pro You can perform substantially the same tasks as PhotoDeluxe with JASC's Paint Shop Pro. Paint Shop Pro comes with a compression feature on its shareware version. You get a 30 day free evaluation period after which JASC Software asks you to purchase the affordable license (less than $100 and well worth it with ever increasing features and applications). Paint Shop Pro is purported to be as versatile as Adobe's more expensive PhotoShop if you utilize the abundantly available plug-ins.

Image Magick Image Magick is a copyrighted "freeware" which we have learned of and are listing here as a possible alternative to Photo Shop, Photo Deluxe, Paint Shop Pro or Picture Publisher. We have tested its capabilities and are pleased. It has very good compression, manipulation, touch up and enhancement applications. Be prepared to read the compression scale in reverse, however. The page we are referring you to has download options for both Windows and Macintosh.
