Wonderful work by the well-known Egyptian artist Adel El-Siwi. Born in 1952, Adel's artwork can be found in a number of galleries throughout the world; he has participated in exhibitions in Europe and the United States. Image size approx 19 1/2" x 15 1/2", frame size is 30" x 25 1/4". Probably in its original gallery frame and matting. Mixed media, signed upper left A. Siwi 94.

Known for her portraits of well-known American's during the first half of the twentieth century, I believe this is a rare landscape done by Emmet (1866-1952). This is possibly an area in Stockbridge,MA, where she had a studio. Signed Emmet lower left, signed on reverse in pencil Emmet. Oil on canvas/board, image size 10" x 8", frame size 14 1/2" x 12 1/2".

Beautiful watercolor by the Irish-American artist William Magrath (1838-1918). Magrath's paintings can be found in a number of museums to include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Oil on canvas portraits, probably English/Scottish, late 18th century with original frames and stretchers. Both with labels on the back identifying the sitter. Her name is Anne Browne, born 1763 died 1820. His name is James Duncan or Duran, born 1753 died 1809. Frame size 28 3/4" x 33 1/2". Sight size 25 1/4" x 30". Both have an old relining. Formerly the property of James Cogar, the first curator of Colonial Williamsburg.

Stipple engraving by Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815) dated 1787. The sitter is the 'Reputable and Honorable Countess Spencer'. Excellent condition with faint plate impression in margins. Plate size approx 8" x 11 1/2", frame size 17 1/2" by 21 1/2".

Watercolor of an area called Ramblersville, present day West Hamilton Beach, Queens New York. This, I believe, is a rare view of the fishermans squatter shacks built along Hawtree Creek following the civil war. On the back is written Ramblersville L.S.. L.S. is possibly an abbreviation for looking south/late spring. A similar watercolor by this artist sold at Weschler's auction house in DC on 24 April 04, sale 1276 lot #626.
