Oil on artist board titled on the back "A View of the Potomac South of Alexandria 1804". Probably painted in the late 19th century after an earlier work. Signed lower left, S. Hart. Frame size 17 3/8" x 14 3/8", image size 11 7/8" x 8 7/8".

Known for her portraits of well-known American's during the first half of the twentieth century, I believe this is a rare landscape done by Emmet (1866-1952). This is possibly an area in Stockbridge,MA, where she had a studio. Signed Emmet lower left, signed on reverse in pencil Emmet. Oil on canvas/board, image size 10" x 8", frame size 14 1/2" x 12 1/2".

Oil on canvas portraits, probably English/Scottish, late 18th century with original frames and stretchers. Both with labels on the back identifying the sitter. Her name is Anne Browne, born 1763 died 1820. His name is James Duncan or Duran, born 1753 died 1809. Frame size 28 3/4" x 33 1/2". Sight size 25 1/4" x 30". Both have an old relining. Formerly the property of James Cogar, the first curator of Colonial Williamsburg.
