Watercolor of an area called Ramblersville, present day West Hamilton Beach, Queens New York. This, I believe, is a rare view of the fishermans squatter shacks built along Hawtree Creek following the civil war. On the back is written Ramblersville L.S.. L.S. is possibly an abbreviation for looking south/late spring. A similar watercolor by this artist sold at Weschler's auction house in DC on 24 April 04, sale 1276 lot #626.
