This is a rarity - A Teapot by Burleighware in the rare CECIL ALDIN series. This one features two scenes: some yokels in the stocks with 3 dogs and the Village Inn in the background, and 2 men carrying a gentleman in a Sedan Chair. Both scenes are signed by Cecil Aldin. The teapot has a fabulous Art Deco shape and is in excellent condition, with a special backstamp. Jug available too.

The Royal Doulton GNOMES B Series was in production from 1927 - 1950. It was designed by Charles Noke, inspired by Arthur Rackham's illustrations for 'Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens', 1906. There are 5 recorded scenes and this 8 1/2" Rackplate features scene 2: 'Tree trunk with 5 gnomes amongst the roots'. Here is a fabulous quality spirit kettle that epitomises Art Nouveau Design. Standing 13" high it has Sterling Silver Hallmarks for London 1905 and the maker's mark for G&S Co Ld. Matching hallmarks are to be found on the teapot body, finial, 2 keys (these allow the pot to swivel and keep it steady on the base), the burner lid and base. Fabulous Carlton Ware Biscuit Barrel 6" high (SOLD). Swallow mark dates this to 1906-1927. David Serpel describes this pattern 614 as: Dark green ground in matt glaze with frieze of white foliage and pattern of white dancing figures in classical style, both applied as sprigs in the manner of Wedgwood.
