History & Philosophy
Established in 2003, Ars Scandinavica is the result of a long desire to deal with objects of art, which left their trace in the younger art history of Scandinavia and northern Europe. The enterprise has its origin and base in Denmark's capital city Copenhagen in close neighbourhood to Sweden. Our location allows us ideally sourcing our articles from both countries along the Oresound. Operating from the heart of Scandinavia it suggests itself to specialize on Scandinavian and northern European art with main focus on ceramics and porcelain from the 20th century.

About Us

Items by Just Andersen, Arne Bang, Bode Willumsen Gallery at Ars Scandinavica
Our gallery displays objects designed and manufactured by some of the most distinguished potters and artists in Scandinavia and northern Europe. Our pieces of art and decorative art are mainly ceramics, porcelain and pottery from the 20th century made by Scandinavian artists like Jais Nielsen, Arne Bang, Axel Salto, Bode Willumsen, Bjørn Wiinblad, Alf Wallander, Connie Walther, Ivan Weiss, Carl-Harry Stålhane, Nils Thorsson and Valdemar Petersen. Beyond our main area of ceramics we offer paintings of modern and contemporary art, works in metal (tin and bronze) designed for example by Just Andersen, glass and numerous pieces falling under" Varia and Exotica". Classical Scandinavian manufactures of ceramics are Royal Copenhagen, Bing & Grøndahl, Rörstrand, Gustavsberg and Aluminia. Please feel welcome to stroll through our site offering you more than just pieces of art.
