| This offering is for a pair of vintage Mexican Taxco 970/1000 sterling silver, natural fancy cut Amethyst Screwback Earrings c1950-70. Signed with famous Antonio Taxco Crown Mark on one earring - with partial unreadable eagle mark and 970 eagle mark 208? (registered to Antonio Pineda) on the other earring. These marks are for the renowned Antonio Pineda - early on worked with William Spratling and Los Castillo - opened his own Taller in 1941. These earrings are solid and of obvious quality - the amethyst stones are cut like a half log with beveled ends rich purple color with inclusions - one with tiny flea bite to cut bevel edge on one as seen in photo. Earrings have original screw back findings - in good working condition. When you put the earrings on - they sit more in a diamond shape with the slightly convex form wrapping around the ear lobe - stunning - photo actually shows them upside down - sorry. Each earring measures approx 5/8ths inch square and 5/16ths inch deep, (without screwback). Together they weigh a hefty 15.2 grams. Have not polished or cleaned these - as I found them. Good, original, useable condition, faint surface wear consistent with age and light use, dirty and in need of a cleaning and a polish. First Class Postage and Insurance included in Asking Price. | ||
