SOLD 

A fine Piha of classical form, as worn by members of the 19th century Sinhalese court. Silver and bronze alloy decoration, horn handle. Well forged blade shows evidence of laminations. In good condition overall, measures 11 inches (29cm) overall. Some losses to hilt and repousse decoration, refer to photos.

Nice wall vase, probably circa 1900. Almost 25cm tall, 8.5cm at the mouth. Excellent condition. Possibly Arita. Would be perfect for ikebana or placed in an alcove like a tokonoma.

Excellent 19th century Chinese cloisonne inkwell with peony and ruyi designs on a black ground. Lovely hidden scene on the underside of a flowering branch on a turquoise blue ground. Three pieces consisting of the body, the removable ink reservoir, and the cover. Excellent condition, with one tiny loss on a corner, see photo. Measures approx. 3.5 inches tall (9cm) Very well made.

An most unusual and well painted blue and white dish, probably Kangxi circa 1660, imitating Wanli Kraak. In form this piece is similar to a Border II Kraak dish in Rinaldi's typology, although she does not record this exact theme. Delicately painted mandarin ducks are depicted swimming in a pond among flowering water lotuses, a bird, and a frog. A refined meiping shaped celadon vase with peachbloom splash, and pleachbloom glazed interior. Mid 19th century. This unusual scholars object is in excellent condition and stands 13.5cm tall, almost 5.5 inches. Thicker glazed portions show good pooling, with subtle crackling in these areas per manufacture.

A rare Chinese side knife with horn handle and original brass and dyed green shagreen scabbard. Chinese symbol chiseled into the blade near the ricasso, the blade showing a forged structure with some forging flaws. Distal taper in the blade and especially in the tang, puts the point of balance just 2cm in front of the handle.
