Ichiban Antiques started as an obsessive collection of antique Japanese woodblock prints and Japanese Festival dolls some sixteen years ago. Like so many dealers, our collection continued to grow in number and volume until such time as we were faced with buying a larger home or parting with some of our beloved treasures. Thus, in 1992, Ichiban was born and we have been both buying and selling ever since. Since then we have moved away from dolls but have greatly expanded our range of Oriental and Japanese antiques to many centuries and most Asian countries. We add a new listing to the site every day - so be sure to check back often to see our latest offerings !

All items are described as honestly and fully as we know how from our research and experience. If you do not see what you want on the shop, just let us know - if we have it in stock,we can send a digital photo right away. All purchases are fully guaranteed for seven days from the date you receive an item to be as described. After that, all sales are considered final. If an item is returned with our advance approval, the buyer is responsible for packing, shipping cost and full insurance. Shipping costs are in addition to the prices listed. We will only ship via US Mail, Fully Insured.

International shipments are at buyer's risk and cost. International credit cards are accepted on a case by case basis dependent upon our ability to verify cardholder information and secure bank authorization. Please note that we are not willing to falsify values on U.S. Customs forms or to mark the form "gift." Also please note that on international shipments, we can provide proof of shipment and insurance but we cannot accept responsibility for the package after it leaves the U.S. All U.S. Customs Forms are marked merchandise and valued only with the actual selling price of the piece. We regret that we are not in a position to provide item identification, market advice, values, or appraisals over the telephone, the Internet or from photographs - we make no exceptions. With the advent of the appraisal programs on television, the volume of requests for such information has become extremely heavy and we are just not equipped to handle them - nor are we prepared to deal with the liability issues that can arise from such issues. We suggest that you do an Internet search for appraisers as there are many listed out there who are prepared to offer appraisals for a fee. Your understanding of these policies is appreciated.

We are starting to phase out our business over the next 2-3 years so are not purchasing any additional items for our inventory. However - we still have over 1,200 excellent items to photograph and post to the site. We add a new listing every single day - so you can visit weekly or monthly and always see new listings.
