A rustic old Japanese asa-kaya fabric. The deep yet sheer indigo green with right brown stripes. This kaya is a rough-woven asa linen and it is assumed to be from Japanese Tohoku region (the Northern Honshu). Ca. Meiji era (1868-1912) Dimension: 14"wide 70" long

This Japanese Oribe oil bottle, abura-tsubo, was used for oil-lamp and it has a symmetrical and balanced shape with two chrysanthemums on the both sides. The Oribe glaze shows deep and clean green and it contrasts so well with two floral motifs. Ca. Meiji Era (late 1868-1912) The dimensions are: Diameter: 3.5" Height: 2.5"

This rare Japanese smoking "tray", tobacco-bon, is stylistically very similar to hibachi brazier. The rectangular-shape chest has an iron 'hi-ire' (brazier) for lighting tobacco on pipe while the bamboo tube is used as an ash-tray. At the bottom, there are two small drawers with handsome hand-crafted iron pulls. The tobacco-bon is made from keyaki (zelkova) wood and kiri (paulownia) wood. A small and compact calligraphy box, called 'fude-bako.' The hardware is all original and the box has nice and rustic patina. The top of the box stores a suzuri-ink-pad, while the small and narrow three drawers holds brushes and other stationary items. It will make a lovely and unique jewelry box.
