This rare Japanese smoking "tray", tobacco-bon, is stylistically very similar to hibachi brazier. The rectangular-shape chest has an iron 'hi-ire' (brazier) for lighting tobacco on pipe while the bamboo tube is used as an ash-tray. At the bottom, there are two small drawers with handsome hand-crafted iron pulls. The tobacco-bon is made from keyaki (zelkova) wood and kiri (paulownia) wood.
