Japanese Choshi Iron Sake Serving Pot
Sold. Thank you.

This classic style of Japanese choshi sake serving pot is made from cast-iron and it comes with a delicately made bronze lid. The shape of the pot is clean and simple and there are four character inscriptions, which read "Sen-Gen-no-Cho-Ja." Sen-gen-no-cho-ja is a famous title/story of traditional Japanese Joruri play, puppet theatre script. The lid has a delicate design on the top which depicts with a frog hopping to a willow branch. Overall it has a quiet and elegant atmosphere and the condition of the interior is very good too. Ca. Late 1800s to Early 1900s. Dimensions: approximately 7.25 wide 5.25 deep 7.25 high
