| This charming child's maekake (maedare) apron is made from an old plaid indigo kasuri fabric and a solid indigo fabric as backing. There are four ties along the edge to secure the apron for a child body. As a simple piece as it is, there is such a warm and nostalgic atmosphere that anyone can fondly relate. Due to the age and heavy use, there is a two inch wide hole on the chest area, which also somehow adds a humorous charm. Ca. the Meiji era (the late 1800 to the early 1900s). Dimensions: 12" wide 18" long. | ||
