| This absolutely elegant Japanese maru obi was brought back from Kyoto. The finest yarns were used to create the most meticulous patterns of sea shells, an auspicious symbols, which is even iridescent appearance. The colors are sage-brown (khaki-ish) with some shades of browns. The condition is excellent and it is very light weight, which shows the good quality of silk. Ca. Late 1800s to Early 1900.
