Japanese Sakiori a part of Kotastu Blanket Morioka
Sold. Thank you.

We brought this back from our latest trip to Morioka-shi in the Tohoku region of Japan. This beautifully woven sakiori textile was originally a part of kotatsu-heater blanket, so the size of this textile indicates the original length of the blanket itself. The width is much wider than average sakiori obis. The color of rich indigo immediately caught our eyes and the combination of rustic red and orange, and other muted shades certainly create a warm and earthy appearance. Dimensions: 13.5"wide 88"long
