PRECOLUMBIAN ILAMA DECORATED BOWL. FROM COLOMBIA. Ceremonial, In Excellent condition. With rounded walls. and wide mouth densely painted inside and out with reddish orange brown. Interior decorated with geometric swirls. Very old, dated 1500 B.C.

PRE-COLUMBIAN Vessel. Slightly oval globular bowl with smaller mouth and slightly flaring lip. Small ring foot at base and three double line lizard-like abstractions pasted. Please email me for more pictures. The piece is approximately 9 inches in diameter and sits 6 1/4 inches tall. From the quimbaya culture in Colombia.
Rounded bowl with ring foot. Body divided by four sets of parallel vertical ridges, each edged with bead work. The bead work is repeated around the top and the bottom.

With flaring rim, ridged shoulder and three handles -two a shoulder and one lower down on body to be used, with weights, for pouring liquid while hanging. Traces of geometric paint design in black over reddish brown.In excellent condition.
