Sandstone head of a goddess, from the famous erotic temples of Khajuraho, India. Chandella period (950-1050). The head is 32 cm (13 inch) high. Head plus stand 45 cm (18 inch). Museum quality piece. Provenance: private collection Belgium.
Decorated with a bird on a rock and flower panels. Diameter 14 cm. The footrims with attached oven sand, often seen on porcelain from this period. Wanli (1573-1619). Condition: one saucer with a hairline crack.
The Buddha Amitayus is holding a stupa or a treasure vase. He is seated on a lotus pedestal. H. 13 cm (5.4 inch). Condition: expected wear to the gilding and the blue pigment on the head. There is a small hole in the pedestal next to the right knee, probably a casting flaw.
Very well carved with Chinese figures in a garden with pavillions. Made for export around the middle of the 19th century. There are two marks on the inside of the case. H. 9,5 cm (3.9 inch), W. 5,8 cm ( 2.4 inch ). Excellent condition. This item can only be shipped within the EU.
