A wonderful European example of a rare textile mourning memorial picture. The picture is a tour-de-force of multimedia: painting, silk cutting, traditional embroidery, as well as a stumpwork technique in the lower foreground. The young lady's face, hair, arm and hand are painted in watercolor, as is the surrounding background.
