" Lovely vintage orange almost crepe silk with great floral motifs in many colors. This piece is unique in that it has been prepped to be "recycled". In the past, when someone could not afford a new kimono they would re-dye the ones that they had. In this case there are shadowy outlines of a new pattern on the reverse side of this fabric. Some of these lines show through a bit in the white areas of the panel." Very good condition. 13.5" x 59"

" A stunning vintage silk in a deep shade of royal blue. It is completely covered in a pattern of peacock feathers in shades of white and pale and medium canary yellow. Almost every element of this piece is outlined in metallic gold as well as the centers of the feathers being rendered in at least three different shades of gold. The silk is surprisingly soft for having this much embellishment and has a great drape." Mint condition. 14.5" x 71"

Japan. 1950-1970. "A light stone grey vintage chirimen silk covered in tropical motifs. The panel is yuzen dyed and then afterward was accented with some opaque white brushwork. Many of the florals and fronds have metallic gold outlining. Because this is a chirimen its hand is heavier than a rinzu but it still maintains a great drape.
This piece is in great condition in terms of the dyed motifs. There is some patina and fading in the solid grey areas as well as a small spot at one edge. ...click for details
