Silk on silk embroidery mounted directly onto pliable thin board. The birds are given a life-like 3D appearance via an unusual technique: the embroidery is raised from the background, varying 0.25 cm to 1.5cm. Condition is very good or excellent. The L.A. newspapers attached to the original frame were dated 1938, so that likely dates this textile to predate that year. 22" x 27"
