A museum quality work by the talented Hiroshima based ceramic artist Kimura Yoshiro. Kimura (b.1946) deals almost exclusively with the color blue. First wanting to be a Zen monk he switched to pottery(like Tsujimura Shiro) and fell in love with the deep blue of the Aegean Sea upon a visit, and thus his quest to bring that color to his exquisite works. He's been awarded the Grand Prix at the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Exhibit as well in the Tanabe Museum's Tea Forms exhibit. Pieces have been bought by the Tokyo National Museum and he had a successful show in NYC a few years back. The blade form is 31.3cm.tall and 13cm.wide at base, in perfect condition with a signed box. His works are in very limited numbers and it takes me years to get pieces....
