Takiguchi Kazuo(b.1953) is one of the most interesting and important Kyoto ceramic artists of the past 20 years. His original forms and deftly painted smaller works have earned him a slew of awards and a large following here in Japan as well as around the world. He's always exploring new forms and textures and recently we selected a few new works in his continuing mudai--no title--series of organic forms with patterned bluish-white glazing. In perfect condition with a signed box, 28cm.tallx18.8x11. Takiguchi's was named one of the most important and popular artists in a past Honoho Geijutsu magazine poll and that list can be viewed at e-yakimono.net/html/honoho-rankings.html The editor of HG asked me to write once again for the publication--I wrote a past column for five years--and the new column will be from the August issue.
