Here is a very animated Bizen vase by Kakurezaki Ryuichi that has much attitude in form, yet with a classic Bizen yohen firing. It dates to 1989 the time when he was starting to very much make a name for himself here in Japan and shows the reason why; a thoroughly new and innovative form based on ancient eared vases that respects tradition yet clearly expands on it.
