Dating to 1995, this is an elegant zogan shino vase depicting a pine tree covered with Shino glaze in various hues; overall a very engaging vase by one of Japan's most celebrated contemporary ceramic artists Imai Masayuki(b.1930). The front and back offer very different views to the eared vase, truly a graceful work. Included with the vase will be a 1990 retrospective Imai catalog from an exhibition that toured Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto; mostly bilingual. In perfect condition with a signed box, 23.8cm.tall, stamped on base.
