The vertical striped cups recall the Edo period style known as mugiwara-de and the horizontal lined cups take the motif in another direction; all the work of Tamba's innovative and celebrated ceramic artist Ichino Masahiko(b.1961). No reason why not to add a bit of flair and style to the table; the two tallest cups are 13.5cm.tall and priced at 16,800 yen each; the three horizontally striped cups are 13cm.tall and priced at 12,600 yen each; and the three shortest ones are 7.8cm.tall and priced at 16,800 yen each; all include signed boxes and these days in Japan the shorter cups are often used for shocha on ice and the taller cups for beer.
