Minegishi Seiko(b.1952) has without doubt become one of Japan's finest and most original celadon potters today. His forms are unique and his deep crackled glazing is exquisite. More about him can be read at e-yakimono.net or in a past issue of DARUMA magazine. His work was acquired by the New Orleans Museum of Art through our gallery a few years back, as well as to the Rhode Island School of Design by a NYC dealer. Easy to see why when viewing his truly exceptional work. Just today we selected six works by this celadon master--we wanted more, yet his loss rate, and demand here in Japan, is quite high. This three-sided faceted tsubo-jar is, as with all his work, a clay jewel with a deep robin egg's blue crackled glaze. A delight to gaze upon....In perfect condition with a signed box, 31.5cm.tallx23.1, stamped on base. The other works to be seen are in photos and preview photos of the large jar, tall vase, chawan and two guinomi gladly sent upon request.
