The reason I selected this chawan by Living National Treasure Shimaoka Tatsuzo is for a few reasons, one of
which is the rare age, others include the fine/sturdy form, a very 'jimi'
quiet strength temperament, craftsman 'bamboo node' foot, and last, but not least, is the clarity of the jomon rope pattern, for which Shimaoka was designated a LNT for. Tea will look great inside as well. In perfect condition with a signed box, circa 1974, 10.1cm.tallx12.5, stamped on base, a museum piece by a Mingei legend.
