Hayashi Mamiko(b.1959) is an elegant ceramic artist who after graduating from prestigious Keio University started her ceramic career in 1985 studying with Ito Keiji at the Gifu City Ceramic Art Institute. She has had a gallery based career thereafter. This silver-white square vase has the appearance of marble, and as I have spoken with Hayashi many times she often mentions how hard this form is to make. This particular work was featured on an exhibition pamphlet for her exhibition in 1999 at the Gallery Isogaya in Tokyo. In perfect condition with a signed box, 22.5cm.tallx11x19, signed on base.
