Takeuchi Shingo(b.1955) is a Seto ceramic artist who specializes in abstract forms with zogan inlay and muted stripe tones; I've been a fan of his work for about 20 years and recently got back in touch with him. We have 15 new works to offer and here is the first, a twisty engaging jar with alternating blue and light purple-pink stripes etched in white zogan clay. It's a very organic form--as they all are--and changes with each small turn. A museum piece--as they all are--in perfect condition, 23cm.tallx24, signed on base, box if desired is extra. Takeuchi has exhibited extensively here in Japan at one-man shows and juried exhibitions, as well as in New Zealand, Belgium, Taiwan and Korea.
